It has been a horror show for the India Cricket Team against New Zealand in the IND vs NZ 1st Test Day 2 in Bengaluru. The hosts were bowled out for a mere score of 46 runs on Day 2 of the first test. As many as five players were dispatched for ducks as Matt Henry and William ORourke bagged a fifer and a four-fer respectively.
Coming to the bowling and the fielding department, the team wasn’t good either. None of the pacers, Bumrah or Siraj managed to bag a wicket while the three spinners etched out a wicket each. And to top it all, the fielding was equally poor with multiple catch drops and run-out mixups.
India’s Batting down the drain
Imagine having the best team in the world, having the best batting lineup, and getting bowled out for 46 runs. And that too against a New Zealand side sans Kane Williamson that lost 2-0 to Sri Lanka a couple of weeks back. At the end of Day 2, New Zealand amassed 180/3 and now holds a comfortable lead of 134 runs.
Comin to Indian batting, it was utter chaos. Team India won the toss and opted to bat first which proved fatal. The Kiwis pacers ran riot from the very beginning. Yashasvi Jaiswal managed 13 runs while skipper Rohit Sharma was dismissed for 2 runs. Anf then stated the collapse.
Virat Kohli and Sarfaraz Khan were dismissed on ducks. Down the order, came Rishabh Pant as he tried to settle in. But the southpaw too was dismissed on 20 runs. The lower order then fell like a pack of cards with KL Rahul, Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja all getting out on ducks.
India not good with bowling
Coming to thew bowling department, the skies cleared away as the sky came shining out. The moisture in the pitch evaporated as the Kiwi batters pounched on the chance. Devon Conway led the charge scoring 91 after being dismissed by Ashwin. Jadeja and Kuldeep managed to scalp a wicket each, but it didn’t work too well for the Indians.
