About Women’s Hockey India League 2024-25
After a seven-year break, the Hockey India League (HIL) is set to make a spectacular comeback in the 2024-25 season, introducing an expanded format that includes both men’s and, for the first time, a dedicated women’s league.
The launch of a women’s league alongside the men’s competition represents a major advancement towards gender equality in Indian sports. This initiative offers female athletes a dedicated platform to demonstrate their skills, creating a more inclusive and competitive landscape for hockey. By hosting both men’s and women’s tournaments simultaneously, the HIL stands out as one of the few sports leagues in India that actively promotes gender parity.
