With the conclusion of the two-day men’s auction for the Hockey India League (HIL), all eyes are now on the upcoming women’s auction, set to take place on Tuesday, October 15, in New Delhi. Approximately 250 players will be available for selection, as the Women’s Hockey India League will feature four teams. In the women’s auction, Udita Duhan, an Indian defender with over 100 caps, made headlines by becoming the highest-paid player with a remarkable bid of ₹32 lakh. She was bought by Shrachi Rarh Bengal Tigers.

After a seven-year hiatus, the Hockey India League (HIL) is set to make a grand return in the 2024-25 season with an expanded format that includes both men’s and, for the first time, a dedicated women’s league.
