Sanju, who had been under pressure for not scoring runs in the first two games, thrived by making 111 runs in just 47 balls, including 8 sixes, to achieve his first T20I century. He formed crucial partnerships, first with Abhishek Sharma and then with Suryakumar Yadav, as the duo posted a 173-run partnership, pushing the team close to setting the highest T20I total for India.
For Samson, who hasn’t had many chances in the Indian team, each opportunity he received didn’t end well. With Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli announcing their retirement from T20Is following the T20 World Cup, an opportunity came for Samson. However, he nearly missed this chance after a disappointing performance in the first two matches but turned things around in the last T20I.
