IND W vs PAK W: Why India Women's Cricket Team can't take Pakistan Women's Cricket Team lightly in ICC Women's T20 World Cup?

The India Women’s Cricket Team is now placed in a precarious situation. They need to win their IND W vs PAK W clash with a big margin to remain alive in the hunt for the semi finals of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. But India won’t have it easy. Pakistan are a formidable opponent and have managed to beat India twice in T20 World Cups.

While the head-to-head stats are stacked heavily in favour of India, but the Women in Blue can’t take their arch rivals lightly. First and foremost, India are on a bad run. They were handed a humiliating 58 run defeat by the White ferns the other day and India is now placed in the bottom position of Group A with an NRR of -2.9.

India wary of Pakistan

So far in T20Is, India and Pakistan have clashed 15 times. India have won 12 of those games while Pakistan won the remaining 3. Out of these 3 wins, 2 have come in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, while the other came in the Asia Cup. Interestingly. Pakistan last defeated India in T20 World Cup 8 years ago, way back in 2016.

But now, the times have changed. The momentum has drifted towards Pakistan. India is currently under tremendous pressure to perform or perish. It is a do-or-die clash for India who will be desperate make some amendments after their opening debacle. Harmanpreet Kaur and Co will be keen for a big win which would greatly help in negating the massive NRR which India currently possesses.

For Pakistan, the opening game win against Sri Lanka will be a massive confidence booster. The Women in green too will be desperate to set the record straight when they take on India in this highly entertaining clash.
