On October 3, 2024, Afghanistan player Rashid Khan got married in the capital city Kabul. While the wedding was a surprise for the fans, it was on October 5, when Rashid took to social media and shared photos from his wedding and informed that he is “hitched,” along with a ring emoji. As soon as Rashid shared the photos, it got wishes from all over the world and his fans and followers also wished him.
Rashid Khan’s post has close to six lakh likes. One wrote, “Many Many Congratulations for Our King Rashid Khan! May Allah keeps you happy Inshallah.” Another one commented, “Congratulations afghani CR7,” followed by a red heart emoji. “Congratulations brother happy life ahead,” wrote another.

The player wore a black kurta pyjama and over it, he completed the look with red colour jacket. He followed Pashtun customs for his marriage. The wedding was attended by various cricketers and fan and followers. It was also attended by most of Afghanistan’s national team players, including Mohammad Nabi, Azmatullah Omarzai, Fazallaq Farooqui and Mujeeb Ur Rehman.
The cricketer, in many videos, is seen shaking hands with guests and greeting them. Reports has it that along with Rashid Khan, three of his other brothers also got married as they were seen in similar outfits.
He got married in Imperial hotel and the venue was filled with gold antiques and flowers of similar taste. Outside the venue, guards were seen holding guns in their hands to safeguard the security.
Rashid Khan is Afghanistan’s cricketing icon and has left many impressed with his remarkable performances. He ranked 3rd in the world, with 152 wickets in 93 T20 matches and 190 wickets in 105 ODIs. Khan plays for Gujrat Titans in Indian Premier League (IPL).
