Suryakumar Yadav reveals nervous moments before taking catch that won India the T20 World Cup

Suryakumar Yadav claims that he was nervous while taking David Miller's catch that helped India Cricket Team win ICC T20 World Cup

India’s recent ICC glory came when they lifted the T20 World Cup at Barbados. While quite a few moments helped India stage a remarkable comeback in the final, it was Suryakumar Yadav‘s incredible catch that helped India win the silverware. And now even months after winning the final. SKY goes on to reveal his nervous moments before he took the absolute blinder of a catch.

SKY was recently at The Great Indian Kapil Show where he along with Rohit Sharma, Axar Patel, and others delved deeper into how India broke their 11-year-old ICC trophy jinx.

It was a Great Feeling: SKY

When I ran, I noticed that the ball was quite far away. Then I saw Rohit bhai, he was at the other side standing in long on. Then I thought I should run, catch the ball and throw it back in. Even if it was three or four runs, we would have a chance of winning. When the ball got closer, there was a chance to catch it and throw it back in. When I caught it after throwing it back inside, it was a great feeling,” said Suryakumar Yadav.

While Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, and Arshdeep Singh bowled extremely well in the last 4 overs of the game, it was SKY’s catch that secured the trophy for India. Dismissing the dangerous David Miller was what India had hoped for and it came to the Men in Blue in a moment of sheer brilliance from SKY.
