Indian cricket star Virat Kohli showcased his Bengali skills after receiving a special gift from Bangladesh spinner Mehidy Hasan Miraz following the second Test match in Kanpur. Miraz presented Kohli with a bat from his company, to which the Delhi-born batter replied in Bengali, saying, “Khoob bhalo achi (it’s very good)” with a smile. He added, “Wish you all the best. Keep doing the good work.” Earlier, Miraz also gifted a bat to Indian skipper Rohit Sharma, who expressed his delight with a heartfelt message for the Bangladesh cricketer.
Rohit’s praises Mehidy
Rohit Sharma shared his admiration for Mehidy, stating, “I know Mehidy from a long time. He is a very good cricketer. I am very proud of him that he has started his own bat company with some of his friends. I wish him all the best. May God give him success, and I hope this company rises above everyone else.”
Kohli gifted his bat to Shakib
Kohli also gifted his cricket bat to former Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan to honour his outstanding Test career after the second Test in Kanpur. Shakib announced that the upcoming series against South Africa would be his last on home soil unless given another opportunity, and that the series against India could serve as his farewell. He mentioned in a pre-match press conference, “I am available for the South Africa series, but a lot is happening back home, so not everything depends on me.”
