Pakistan players haven’t received monthly salaries for 4 months, frustrated with PCB

As per a report, Pakistan players are yet to gain clarity on the central contracts and haven't received their monthly salaries from the PCB since July

There seems to be no end in sight for the problems of the Pakistan cricket team. Amid boggling issues including poor form and unity, another key problem has come to the fore. As per a report, the Pakistan cricketers are yet to receive their central contracts and are reportedly miffed with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) over the delay.

Pakistan players frustrated with PCB

As per Cricket Pakistan, the players are frustrated with the board over the uncertainty surrounding their central contracts. In 2023, the central contracts were drawn out for a period of three years till 2026. However, the team’s debacle in the ODI World Cup forced the PCB to review the contracts. The report further claimed that the Pakistan players haven’t received their monthly salaries for the last four months (July-October).

To make matters worse, PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi is reportedly refusing to cave in to any sort of pressure when it comes to decision making on the contract. The players, on the other hand, are frustrated for not being able to push for their demands. Additionally, the PCB chairman has asserted that no player would get a central contract if they fail to clear the fitness test.

The report further claims that the players are yet to receive payments for the sponsorship logo on their jerseys. A player, who chose to keep his identity anonymous, has claimed that the team’s miserable form has forced the PCB to be more assertive.

Following the team’s debacle at the T20 World Cup, the PCB once again has attempted to hit the reset button. A fresh round of fitness tests, a connection camp in Lahore and the stepping down of Babar Azam as the white-ball captain as are some of the highlights. Pakistan are in desperate need to find their way back to winning ways, especially with less than six months left for the Champions Trophy 2025.
