Sarfaraz Khan struck a brilliant century for Mumbai on Wednesday during the second day of the Irani Cup 2024-25 match at the Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow. The Mumbai batter smashed 14 boundaries, reaching his century in 149 balls, marking his 15th First-Class century. This is Sarfaraz’s second ton in the Irani Cup, his first being 138 runs against Saurashtra in the 2022 edition.
Crucial partnership with Rahane
Walking in with Mumbai at 139 for four, Sarfaraz built a vital 131-run partnership with Ajinkya Rahane for the fifth wicket, stabilizing the innings. Rahane missed his century by three runs, he eventually got out for 97 runs.
Sarfaraz joined the Mumbai squad just a day before the match after being released from the Indian team following the second Test against Bangladesh in Kanpur.
