Bangladesh fans are stuck in limbo. They don’t know whether their greatest ever player, Shakib Al Hasan, has retired from Test cricket or not. The all-rounder had stated before the India vs Bangladesh 2nd Test that he’d retire from the longest format after playing one last game in Bangladesh.
The Bangladesh vs South Africa Test series will commence on October 21. But the venues are Dhaka and Chattogram. Shakib had requested one of the Tests be played in Mirpur, but due to civil unrest, that’s not possible. Irrespective of that’s about to come for Shakib, he has been gifted a bat by Virat Kohli following Team India’s victory in Kanpur by 7 wickets.

Kohli’s only dismissal in the Kanpur Test came at the hands of Shakib, who cleaned him up when he was batting at 47. But the rivalry remains only until the match. Shakib probably requested Kohli for a bat as a retirement memento. The former Indian skipper obliged, and the two were also spotted chatting for a bit during the post-match interviews as Kohli gave him his willow.
