With the Test series against Bangladesh soon wrapping up, as only the 2nd Test match remains with almost three days of cricket left at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur, the focus is now shifting to the three T20I matches. The Men in Blue have recently announced their squad for the shorter format. Now with Indian T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav back and set to lead the team. Along with many familiar names, there is one surprise inclusion, Mayank Yadav, who made a name for himself in last year’s IPL by dethroning big names with his impressive pace. What he did for the Lucknow Super Giants is now expected from him for the Indian team as well.
The Men in Blue have given several youngsters a chance, especially pacers like Harshit Rana and Mayank Yadav, who can bowl at speeds of 90 miles per hour. Spinner Varun Chakravarthy, who played under Gautam Gambhir’s mentorship at KKR, is also back in the mix.
Speaking about the T20I series, the first match is scheduled for October 6 at the New Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium in Gwalior. The caravan will then move to Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi for the second T20I, with the final match set to be played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
With anticipation building on how the T20 World Cup champions will perform at home, this is set to be their first T20I assignment since their triumphant T20 World Cup 2024 campaign. See all the important details of the upcoming series.
