Ben Stokes
Stokes was one of the most expensive players in the 2023 IPL auction, bought by CSK for a staggering Rs 16.25 crore. However, this England superstar all-rounder had a disappointing season, playing only two matches due to fitness issues. Also, he made himself unavailable for the latter part of the IPL to focus more on his international duties for the Three Lions.
Deepak Chahar
Another name that garnered a lot of attention is Indian pacer Deepak Chahar, for whom CSK bid ₹14 crore in the auction. He became the most expensive Indian pace bowler ever bought at the IPL auction. However, Mitchell Starc broke this record in the last auction when he was bought by KKR for ₹24.75 crore. Deepak Chahar took 13 wickets in 9 IPL innings, with a strike rate of 13.84 and an average of 19.69. He was a key player in CSK’s triumph in 2023.
CSK costliest retention
MS Dhoni
MS Dhoni, who has been the pillar of CSK, also receives a significant amount from the IPL. CSK gives Dhoni Rs 12 crore, however, there are doubts about his IPL 2025 salary, with several reports discussing his future. There are chances that his salary may decrease this time, however, nothing is clear until officials confirm the future of this legendary captain in the IPL.
Ravindra Jadeja
This star left-hand batter, who is a key choice for CSK and also provides all-round option, Ravindra Jadeja, receives Rs 16 crore from CSK. There are high chances that in the upcoming IPL 2025 auction, he will receive the same salary from the Chennai franchise. Jadeja has been with the team for many years and has performed consistently well. He also served as CSK captain in 2022 but was replaced by MS Dhoni in the middle of the season after a series of losses.
