Shan Masood will continue to lead Pakistan in Tests as the PCB has named a 15-member squad for the PAK vs ENG 1st Test which starts from Oct 7

Pakistan cricket team have named their 15-member squad for the upcoming PAK vs ENG 1st Test. Shan Masood will continue to lead the side despite speculations of captaincy change after their historic series defeat to Bangladesh at home. The match will get underway from October 7 in Multan.

A press release from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) stated that the selected players have been withdrawn from the Champions One-Day Cup. Shan Masood and co. will assemble in Multan on September 30 to begin preparation for the upcoming series with a training camp from October 1.

With a busy domestic and international cricket schedule, it makes sense to give our players some much-needed rest ahead of the Test series against England,” Pakistan Test coach Jason Gillespie said.

The call to replace Babar Azam and Shan Masood as captains of white and red-ball formats grew louder following the team’s debacle at the T20 World Cup and in the series at home against Bangladesh.
