In what is a setback before the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, Knight’s actions were deemed racist and discriminatory by Cricket Discipline Commission adjudicator Tim O’Gorman. However, he said than the then 21-year-old Knight had no such intent back then. Knight was given a warning and her fine was suspended for two years pending no further breaches.

“I’m truly sorry for the mistake I made in 2012. It was wrong and I have long regretted it,” Heather Knight said.
