A comprehensive all-round performance by hometown hero Ravichandran Ashwin helped India inflict a crushing 280 run defeat against the visitors. Ashwin slammed a ton and then went on take a fifer, thereby etching his name in the history books to become the only Indian to do so in Test history for four times.
Bangladesh took everyone by surprise by option to bowl first after winning the toss on Day 1. Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin saved India from the blushes after a top order collapse. Ashwin slammed a ton while Jadeja managed to score 86 runs as India registered 376 runs in their first innings score.
