Hardik Pandya slips in T20I rankings ahead of BAN series, Livingstone becomes No.1 all-rounder

Hardik Pandya’s slip in the rankings may serve as motivation for the Indian all-rounder as he prepares to take on Bangladesh in the T20I series.

India’s star all-rounder Hardik Pandya has experienced a dip in his T20I rankings ahead of the upcoming Bangladesh series. Pandya, who was previously ranked 6th in the ICC T20I All-Rounder Rankings, has now slipped to 7th with a total of 199 rating points. This development comes as India prepares for their home series against Bangladesh, set to kick off on September 19 with the first Test match in Chennai.

Despite Pandya’s slight decline in the rankings, the focus remains on the forthcoming T20I series, where India will be aiming to reclaim their dominance, while Bangladesh looks to notch up their first-ever victory against India in red-ball cricket.

India vs Bangladesh: Full Schedule

The Bangladesh tour of India will span from September to mid-October, beginning with two Test matches. The first Test will be held at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai from September 19 to 23, followed by the second Test at Green Park in Kanpur from September 27 to October 1.

After the conclusion of the Test series, the action shifts to the T20 International series, starting on October 6 at Gwalior’s New Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium. The second T20I will take place on October 9 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, and the series will conclude with the third match on October 12 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.

India, under the leadership of new head coach Gautam Gambhir, will look to maintain their strong home record. The team will be buoyed by the return of Virat Kohli, who missed earlier matches due to personal commitments.

Liam Livingstone rockets to No1 in T20I All-Rounder Rankings

Meanwhile, England’s Liam Livingstone has surged to the top of the T20I all-rounder rankings, overtaking several prominent players. Livingstone’s stellar performances in England’s home series against Australia, including 87 runs off 47 balls and 2/16 in the second T20I, earned him the Player of the Match award and catapulted him to the No.1 spot with a career-high rating of 253.

Livingstone now holds a 42-point lead over Australia’s Marcus Stoinis, who is in second place with a rating of 211. Following Stoinis are Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza with 208 points and Bangladesh’s veteran all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, who sits in fourth place with 206 points.

Shifts in T20I Rankings for Batters and Bowlers

In the T20I batting rankings, Livingstone also made a notable leap, climbing 17 places to 33rd after his recent performances. Meanwhile, Australia’s Josh Inglis made a significant move into the top 10, thanks to solid scores of 37 and 42 against England.

On the bowling side, Adam Zampa’s leap over South Africa’s Anrich Nortje means spinners now dominate the top six in the T20I Bowling Rankings. Zampa, with a rating of 662, is just behind Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga, while England’s Adil Rashid maintains his No.1 position with a commanding rating of 721.

What’s next for Hardik Pandya?

Hardik Pandya’s slip in the rankings may serve as motivation for the Indian all-rounder as he prepares to take on Bangladesh in the T20I series. With several all-rounders competing for the top spots, including Liam Livingstone’s recent rise, Pandya will look to bounce back and reclaim his form on the international stage.

The India vs Bangladesh series will be a key opportunity for him and his teammates to shine, as they aim to build momentum ahead of other international fixtures.
