Ajay Jadeja believes Gautam Gambhir to continue aggressive approach in IND vs BAN Test

Ajay Jadeja confident that Gautam Gambhir won't tinker with his aggressive method in upcoming IND vs BAN Test series

New India Cricket Team head coach Gautam Gambhir will be leading his side for the first time in Test cricket. Ahead of the IND vs BAN 1st Test in Chennai, former India cricketer Ajay Jadeja has claimed that Gambhir won’t change is approach. He believes that Gambhir would continue his aggressive approach in red ball cricket as well.

Bangladesh Cricket Team will be highly confident after their stunning 2-0 win Tests against Pakistan. But Ajay Jadeja believes that Gambhir would be keen to establish his dominance from the early onset of the match. The former India cricketer also believes that with this aggressive approach, there won’t be a dull moment in the game.

Gambhir to continue aggressive approach

“It is very clear, his approach is aggressive. One thing is sure, there will never be a dull moment with him around, he will always try something. He will do what he believes,” Jadeja told PTI.

“He (Gambhir) will not be somebody who will sit back and let things flow. He will be out there, he will try things like we saw Suryakumar Yadav becoming captain suddenly. I am looking forward to the excitement we are going to see this year,” Jadeja added.

Gambhir has been fairly aggressive since taking over the reins for the Men in Blue. His first assignment in Sri Lanka saw him win 3-0 in the T20Is and lose 2-0 in the ODIs. But now the biggest test begins as Gambhir is ready for red ball cricket. Known to make firm changes, Gambhir has surely established his dominance.

He swiftly made Suryakumar Yadav as the new T20I skipper after Rohit Sharma announced his retirement from the shortest format of the game after winning ICC T20 World Cup 2024. While Hardik Pandya was next in line to become captain, but SKY is now the new skipper for India.

“Any team which has come just after winning will always think they can win. But there is a difference between the Pakistan team at the moment with the India cricket team. The Indian team is a far superior team,” Jadeja concluded.

Coming to the IND vs BAN Tests, the visitors are sky high in confidence after their record Test win against Pakistan. But Jadeja was quick to point out that Pakistan are not Team India. While Bangladesh can be in good spirits, but facing India at India would be a different ball game altogether.
