Duleep Trophy: Ruturaj Gaikwad retires hurt on 2nd ball of India B vs C match

Gaikwad had scored 51 in the India C vs D match match and lead his team to victory.

India C’s captain, Ruturaj Gaikwad, has retired hurt on the second ball of the India B vs C match at the Rural Development Trust Stadium B in Anantapur. After losing the toss, Gaikwad arrived at the crease with Sai Sudharsan. Like the last match, he took guard to face the first ball.

Ruturaj Gaikwad retires hurt

He started extremely well, hitting Mukesh Kumar for a boundary on the first ball. However, on the next ball, he returned to the pavillion. According to Sportstar, Ruturaj apparently twisted his ankle while attempting to take a quick single. However, it can’t be confirmed. Since there is no live telecast or streaming of the India C vs D match, it can’t be confirmed.

Currently, two matches are happening in Anantapur. India A are facing D at the venue where India C played their last game, and with big players like Riyan Parag, Tilak Varma, Shreyas Iyer, Devdutt Padikkal, Sanju Samson, Harshit Rana and Arshdeep Singh playing, that game is getting all the coverage.
