India surpasses Tokyo count with ease, at 19th spot in Paris Paralympics medals table

Indian contingent is in 19th spot in the Paris Paralympics medals table. They have a chance to move into top-15.

With over four days still to go in the Paris Paralympics, Team India have already made the 2024 edition, their best Games ever. Courtesy of Mariyappan Thagavelu & Sharad Kumar, and Sujeet Singh & Sundar Gurjar, who finished 2-3 on the podium in their respective events, India has a total of 21 medals now. As of now, it is three golds, eight silvers, and 10 bronze medals, and the tally is only expected to grow, with a slew of events still to go for our athletes.

Nitesh Kumar, Sumit Antil & Avani Lekhara Lead Charge in Paris Paralympics

It is only gold medals that help a nation move up in the medals table, and shuttler Nitesh Kumar, javelin specialist Sumit Antil, and shooter Avani Lekhara put their best foot forward. Nitesh proved to be the best in men’s singles SL3 category, Antil won gold in javelin F64, and Avani in women’s 10m air rifle standing SH1.
