The Rajasthan Royals (RR) have decided to bring Vikram Rathour on board as their assistant coach for the IPL 2025 season. The former Indian batter was India’s batting coach during the victorious 2024 T20 World Cup campaign and will now join the franchise circuit.
Rahul-Rathour join RR
Rathour will once again aid Dravid. The 55-year-old has worked under the batting great at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) as one of the assistant coaches. Although he joined Team India as their batting coach in 2019, he continued in the role under Dravid until both of their tenures ended together on June 29.
According to ESPNcricinfo, Rathour will be assistant coach to Dravid for the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2025 season. Although no announcement has been made, he’s set to replace Zimbabwe’s Trevor Penney, who helmed the role in the last edition. Interestingly, RR currently has no head coach, and Dravid, who was their mentor (2014-15) and captain (2011-13) in the past, will join the franchise.
