The India Cricket Team will be starting a new era. Albeit the players will be the same old, but it is a new direction in which Team India will progress. This is mainly owing India team being under a new reign of Gautam Gambhir. And with red ball cricket coming up, the first task for Gautam Gambhir and Co will be host Bangladesh in a 2-match Test series at home.
Ahead of the IND vs BAN Test series, the players will get some match time by participating in the Duleep Trophy. Furthermore, the players will also get time in the India camp in Chennai before the Test series begins.
Same old batting side
Though it is the start of a new era, the batting order for Team India remains the same. Skipper Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal will open proceedings for the team. Shubman Gill will get another chance to cement his spot at number 3 while Virat Kohli will slot in at number 4.
Down the order, KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant will don the role of anchor and destroyed. This essentially proves India has a great batting lineup with Shreyas Iyer and Sarfaraz Khan waiting on the bench, ready to pounce at any chance to make their way in the Indian playing XI.

New Pace attack for India
While Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja are un-droppables, the pace attack is severely depleted. Jasprit Bumrah is rested while Mohammed Shami is recovering from his injury. Siraj is the only prominent pacer albeit he is sick currently. Furthermore, to make make things difficult, India will have to bank on an inexperienced pace lineup to fight against Bangladesh.
