Turkey’s Yusuf Dikec, who became viral because of his famous stance in the Paris Olympics, has filed a trademark for the pose. The pistol shooter’s move is aimed at protecting the commercial use of the stance. Dikec took the step after hearing multiple trademark registrations carried out under his name without his knowledge.
Viral pistol shooter files trademark for stance
“After being informed of numerous trademark registration initiatives carried out without Yusuf Dikec’s knowledge, we submitted an application about a week ago,” his coach Erdinc Bilgili told AFP, adding that the “other applications have been rejected”.
Back in August, Dikec had revealed the secret behind his nonchalant stance and said that he kept his hand in the pocket only to maintain his balance and that there was nothing more in it.

Who is Yusuf Dikec?
Paris Olympics silver medalist Yusuf Dikec hails from Tasoluk village of Goksun district in Kahramanmaras Province. The shooter entered the Military School of Gendarmerie after secondary education in 1994.
After graduating from military school, Yusuf Dikec became a Corporal, a military rank used by the Turkish armed forces and entered the service in Madrain.
In 2001, the marksman from Turkey tried his hand at shooting and started to make a name for himself in the short. He has been representing the military team as well as the Turkey team in shooting.
