Pakistan employ fan-tastic tactic to prepare Rawalpindi pitch for PAK vs BAN 2nd Test

The second match will start on August 30 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) are using some interesting tactics to get the pitch at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium ready in time for the PAK vs BAN 2nd Test. Pakistan cricket team arrived at the stadium to practice. As fielding drilling, batting and bowling practice were going on in the nets, something peculiar piqued the eye.

PCB turns to ‘fans’

It was raining at the start of the day (August 28), and fearing that the pitch at Rawalpindi wouldn’t be ready in time, the staff were using fans to dry off the pitch. You’d expect that a world-class facility would have better ways to get the surface ready for a match that will start on August 30. We have seen blow dryers being used to dry the pitch off during a match, but this surely has to be the first time the ground staff is using fans to get the pitch ready for a match that starts 40 hours later.

This isn’t even the first time that Pakistan are using such tactics. On the first day of the 1st Test at the same venue (Rawalpindi), rain delayed the match. So, in a bid to have some play, Pakistani players stepped on the field with buckets and sponges to get rid of the water on the ground.
