Pakistan cricket team batter Babar Azam has dropped six places to the 9th position on Test batter rankings. The ex-Pakistan skipper’s demotion in the standings come after his poor outing in PAK vs BAN 1st Test in Rawalpindi. Azam, who was on the number three position before the first Test, is now on the verge of being kicked out of the top ten.

It is pertinent to note that Babar Azam is the only Pakistan batter in the top 10. The former Pakistan skipper got out for a duck in the first innings of the game, extending his poor run in the longest-format of the game. In the 2nd innings, he only managed to score 22 runs before walking back to the pavilion.
Babar Azam dropping by nine points has propelled Virat Kohli up by two places despite the Indian star not having played a Test match for nearly eight months. Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Virat Kohli are 6th, 7th and 8th on the rankings respectively.

Meanwhile, Rizwan has reaped reward for his performance in the game, jumping up 7 spots to settle in the 11th position. He played an outstanding 171-run knock in the 1st innings to rescue Pakistan after losing the top-order cheaply. He narrowly missed out on his double century, thanks to Shan Masood’s poor call to declare the innings at 448. He played a lone warrior’s knock in the 2nd innings as well, helping Pakistan take the lead. However, Pakistan went on to lose the game by 10 wickets, handing Bangladesh a historic win.
