‘Complete mockery of Pakistan cricket’: Kamral Akmal fumes as team’s poor run ensues

Kamran Akmal has claimed that no one in the Pakistan dressing room was serious and that they were just playing for fun

Former Pakistan keeper Kamran Akmal lashed out at the team after their historic loss against Bangladesh in PAK vs BAN 1st Test. The Tigers picked up a comprehensive 10-wicket win to secure their first-ever victory against PAK. The loss to Bangladesh means Pakistan’s miserable form continues as the side struggles to get themselves back on the winning track.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Kamran Akmal noted that Pakistan had been failing consistently on multiple occasions. He pointed out that the team had lost to Zimbabwe, was kicked out of the Asia Cup, ODI World Cup and T20 World Cup in the last two years. He further said that if it wasn’t for Rizwan’s knock, Pakistan would have lost the first Test by an innings.

You haven’t learned anything in the last 5 years. You lost to Zimbabwe. Last year, you were eliminated from Asia Cup. You were humiliated at the T20 World Cup. Made a complete mockery of Pakistan cricket,” Akmal said on his YouTube channel.

Further, Kamran flayed the Pakistan batters for playing like club cricketers and credited Bangladesh for exposing the side. He claimed that there was no seriousness among the players as they knew that they would never be questioned. He accused Shan Masood and co. of playing for fun.

Pakistan comitted a grave error by declaring their first innings at 448/8 when they could have easily gotten more runs on board. In reply, Bangladesh posted 565 runs on board in the 1st innings. The hosts were then bundled out for 146 runs, thanks to the spinners. Bangladesh had their task cut short as it took them less than 7 overs to win the game.
