Indian cricketer KL Rahul and his wife Athiya Shetty organised an auction called ‘Cricket for Charity’ to support the Vipla Foundation, an organisation dedicated to providing quality education to underprivileged children. The auction featured items donated by several international cricketers, including star batter Virat Kohli, whose jersey sold for a whopping 40 lakhs.
From Virat’s gloves to Dhoni’s bat
Other notable items sold in the auction included Virat Kohli’s gloves (28 lakhs), Rohit Sharma’s bat (24 lakhs), MS Dhoni’s bat (13 lakhs), Rahul Dravid’s bat (11 lakhs), and KL Rahul’s own jersey (11 lakhs).
International cricketers participated in the auction
Several other Indian and international cricketers like Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant, Sanju Samson, Jos Buttler, Quinton de Kock, and Nicholas Pooran also participated in the auction.
Raised 1.9 Crore in total
After auctioning all the items, Rahul and Athiya raised 1.9 crore rupees. Rahul and Athiya Shetty have been praised for their efforts to raise awareness and funds for this important cause.
