It is quite usual to see Indian origin cricketers play for various teams. But nonetheless, despite multiple players already having achieved the feat, it does become a talking point. On Thursday, Cricket Australia named their squad for the upcoming women’s U19 tri-series between the Aussies, New Zealand, and Sri Lanka, where three Indian origin players will be seen in action.
Ribya Syan, Samara Dulvin, and Hasrat Gill to Play for AUS
The selection panel picked a squad of 15 players for each format (T20 and 50 overs), and the series would be played in Brisbane and Gold Coast. Former Aussie international Kristen Beams has been named as the head coach. Meanwhile, the three Indian origin players are Ribya Syan, Samara Dulvin, and Hasrat Gill. “Their inclusion reflects the growing diversity within Australian cricket and the significant contributions of players with Indian heritage,” CA said in their statement.
