The International Cricket Council (ICC) is looking for a new independent woman director after Indra Nooyi ended her association with the board. The former Pepsi & co CEO had joined ICC initially in 2018 for a period of two years and then went on to complete two more terms until 2024. As per Cricbuzz, her term came to an end at the recent ICC conclave in Colombo.
Indra Nooyi exits ICC
The report states that the ICC is looking for a suitable candidate who can fit the definition of an independent director. It added that an Australian woman is likely to replace Nooyi. The exit of the the former Pepsi and co. CEO means that the board now only comprises of 16 members instead of 17. The report states that the number of members will be crucial in the upcoming ICC elections.

Jay Shah to become new ICC chairman?
BCCI Secretary Jay Shah is slated to become the next ICC Chairman, as per reports. Shah is set to complete in the ICC Election later this year. Greg Barclay is set to resign from his post soon. Jay Shah, having already won over the votes from Australia and England, is among the favourites to take over the post.
