Indian batter Sai Sudharsan has rejoined Surrey County Cricket Club for their upcoming County Championship matches against Lancashire and Nottinghamshire. This stint will serve as crucial preparation for Sudharsan ahead of the Duleep Trophy, which begins on September 5.
Valuable cricket for Sai Sudharsan
Sudharsan, who made his T20I debut for India in July against Zimbabwe, had previously represented Surrey in their County Championship match against Essex in June. He scored14 & 12 in that game, while batting at number six. His return to the English county side will provide him with valuable experience and more exposure to challenging cricket in England.
The two County Championship games will be played at Old Trafford and Trent Bridge, respectively. After completing his county stint on September 1, Sudharsan will join Team C, led by Ruturaj Gaikwad, for the Duleep Trophy, where almost every star Indian cricketer will ply their trades.
It’s worth noting that Sudharsan is not part of the Tamil Nadu teams currently participating in the Buchi Babu tournament. His focus is on his upcoming county commitments and the Duleep Trophy.
Sudharsan has been making significant strides in his career. He played a crucial role in Gujarat Titans’ success in the Indian Premier League 2024, emerging as their highest run-getter. An elegant batter with sky high potential, Sudharsan needs runs under his belt in order to forge himself in the national setup.
