It isn’t the best look when a team coming from a nation that is witnessing civil unrest says that things aren’t in order in your nation. That’s what’s happening to Pakistan right now. The Bangladesh cricket team reached Islamabad four days to prepare for the upcoming Test series. They were originally supposed to arrive on August 17 but due to the turmoil in Bangladesh, they decided to prepone their travel plans.
However, Bangladeshi players aren’t that happy in Pakistan either. They have complained to their management that they aren’t able to talk with their families back home due to the slow internet in Pakistan. There have been several instances of inconvenience, especially during the COVID pandemic, but slow internet is a first.
Currently staying in Lahore, the Tigers are preparing for the Pakistan vs Bangladesh Test series at the Gaddafi Stadium. They’ll soon depart from Lahore and travel to Rawalpindi for the first test, which starts on August 21. The second Test will be much like a first-class game, as no crowd is allowed in Karachi due to renovations going on in the National Stadium.
