Karnataka get new coach ahead of domestic season, Yere Goud returns to replace PV Shashikanth

After a brief pause of two years, Yere Goud returns to the role as Karnataka coach ahead of the start of the domestic season

Former Karnataka coach Yere Goud has returned as the team’s new coach ahead of the start of the domestic season. The veteran will replace existing coach PV Shashikanth who was with the team for two years. Yere Goud was Karnataka’s coach from 2018 onwards, leading the team in four domestic seasons before taking up the U23 side coach job.

Yere Goud returns as Karnataka coach

Goud had successfully guided the Karnataka U-23 side to their maiden CK Nayudu Trophy earlier this year. Under PV Shashikanth, the Karnataka team managed to reach the finals of the Ranji Trophy and the Vijay Hazare Trophy.

Mansur Ali Khan will continue in his role as the bowling coach while J Abhiram will remain as the senior men’s selection committee chairman. Meanwhile, Karuna Jain has been appointed as the state senior as well as U23 women’s team head coach.

Karnataka coaches

Senior team: Head coach: K Yere Goud, Bowling coach: Mansur Ali Khan, Fielding coach: Shabarish P Mohan.

Under-23: Head coach: Somashekhar N Shiraguppi, Fielding: Rohit Sabharwal.

Under-19: Head coach: KB Pawan, Bowling coach: SL Akshay.

Under-16 & Under-14: Head coach: Kunal Kapoor, Assistant coach: Aditya B Sagar
