With the IPL mega auction coming up, let us check out six probable RCB retained players before the IPL 2025 mega auction.
IPL mega auction: RCB retained players
Player | Role |

Mohd. Siraj | Bowler |
Rajat Patidar | Batter |
Yash Dayal | Bowler |
Will Jacks | All-rounder |
Glenn Maxwell | All-rounder |
No place for Faf du Plessis or Cam Green?
After leading RCB in three editions, skipper Faf du Plessis failed to win IPL trophy for Bengaluru. Despite performing well with the bat, questions have been raised about Du Plessis’s captaincy in the past. There are also rumours of KL Rahul joining the RCB and given his captaincy record with LSG, Rahul might also be the captain of Bengaluru in IPL 2025.
Speaking of Cameron Green, the all-rounder was purchased at a heavy cost but has not shown his true potential for the Red Army. He is likely to be released by RCB in order to increase their purchasing power in the IPL mega auction.
Among the probable RCB retained players, the likes of Virat Kohli, Mohd. Siraj, and Rajat Patidar will surely be retained. On the other hand, Yash Dayal and Will Jacks had a good outing in the IPL 2024, which might help them retain their contracts.
There are a few doubts on Glenn Maxwell getting retained by RCB. However, given Maxwell’s destructive batting ability, RCB might show faith in Maxwell for one last time.
