Just a week remain before the start of the Premier League, Manchester United greatly boosted the defense. Reports from England claim that the Red Devils are en route to sign Bayern Munich’s defender duo of Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui. The Premier League giants were in desperate need to reinforce their defense and have got some great additions in the side.
Rafael Varane announced his departure in the summer as a free agent. And with Aaron Wan Bissaka leaving for West Ham United, the Red Devils have yet again replenished their defensive unit. In this summer, the Reds have also bought young French defender Leny Yoro form Lille.
Defensive additions for Red Devils
Manchester United are to shake up their stagnant defense, with Swedish defender Victor Lindelof edging closer to a departure from the club. As the red Devils aim to look for a revival and target the league, Eric ten Hag has identified that the defense needs to be set properly.
Prior to the start of the UEFA Euro 2024, Manchester United had expressed their interest in signing Matthijs de Ligt. Gradually, the interest over Noussair Mazraoui rose as he is tipped to be a backup option for Diogo Dalot. On the transfers front, Manchester United are also keeping additions in the midfield. PSG’s Manuel Ugarte is a prime target for Manchester United this season.
