However, he will once again be on action in a newly made premier T20 league from his local state, Kerala. The star batter from Thiruvananthapuram recently unveiled the logo of the Kerala Cricket League (KCL), the first state-based league from Kerala.

The Kerala Cricket League (KCL) is set to dazzle fans with the inclusion of cricketing sensation Sanju Samson as its iconic player. The tournament, scheduled to take place at the Greenfield International Stadium from September 2 to 19, promises to be a thrilling affair.
With 168 players going under the hammer at the player auction on Saturday (August 10), each franchise is gearing up to assemble a formidable squad of 20 players.
KCL Auction on August 10
Renowned commentator Charu Sharma conducted a mock auction to familiarize the franchises with the bidding process, ensuring a smooth auction day on August 10. The KCL is set to offer fans a double dose of cricket action with two matches scheduled each day, including day and night encounters. Adding to the grandeur, legendary actor Mohanlal, the KCL brand ambassador, will officially launch the league on August 31.
Player auctions will be categorized into three tiers, with IPL and Ranji Trophy veterans commanding a hefty base price of two lakh rupees. Household Kerala-born names in P A Abdul Basit, Sachin Baby, Mohammad Azharuddin, Basil Thambi, Vishnu Vinod, and Rohan S Kunnammal are already signed as icon players for particular teams.
