Arshad Nadeem shatters records and wins Pakistan’s first individual Olympic gold medal at Paris

Arshad Nadeem breaks the Olympic record in 16 years with a mammoth throw of 92.97 metres.

Pakistan’s ace javelin thrower, Arshad Nadeem, has achieved the unexpected at the Paris Olympics. The Punjabi javelin thrower from Pakistan won the first-ever individual gold for his country at the Olympics.

He made two throws over 90 metres in the men’s javelin throw final. His second throw proved to be the winning one, as he launched the javelin to a distance of 92.97 metres.

Arshad Nadeem appeared calm and composed at the start. He initially fumbled his run-up and had a no-throw. Neeraj Chopra also had a foul when he went past the line after his throw.

Arshad’s second attempt was flawless. He made a clean run-up and threw the javelin straight over the 90-metre mark, reaching 92.97 metres. It was a phenomenal throw. He couldn’t believe it, and his coaches were filled with joy and emotions. Indeed, it was his day at the Paris Olympics.

Arshad’s throw created a panic among the participants, as no one else could even cross the 90-metre mark. This performance boosted the Pakistani javelin thrower, securing his place easily in the top eight.

Arshad’s other throws included 88.72 metres, 79.40 metres, and 84.87 metres. However, in a surprising turn, he also achieved a 91.79-metre throw, showing that his second throw was no fluke and proving he was deserving of the gold.
