With Aman Sherat’s loss in the semifinals and Neeraj Chopra’s final on August 8. Now the fourteenth day of the Paris Olympics will be in focus. This also indicates that the Olympics is steadily progressing toward completion. On August 9, all attention will shift to the Indian men’s and women’s 4x400m relay teams, as well as wrestlers and golfers. After several fourth-place finishes, it’s time for these athletes to step up, especially the track athletes who have always been in contention and will look to qualify for their respective finals.
Track athletes and golfers in action on Day 14
This will be the last athletics event for India after several heartbreaks. A prime example is Avinash Sable’s 11th-place finish in the 3000m steeplechase. Additionally, track and field athlete Kaushik Jena’s elimination before the finals in the javelin event was a setback.
Now, the men’s and women’s 4x400m relay teams, which secured their Olympic quotas at the World Athletics Relays, will compete in the qualification round heats for a spot in the final. Also, emerging star golfers Aditi Ashok and Diksha Dagar will continue their Round 3 action. Both Dagar and Ashok finished the first round of the women’s golf event at the Paris 2024 Olympics in T14 positions.
