Gurjant was hit on the head with the ball near the goalpost during a Harmanpreet assist.

Spain strikes in the first quarter

The second quarter didn’t start well for India. In the 18th minute, Spain scored via a penalty corner. Spanish captain Marc Miralles took the stroke and scored in the top right corner, giving Spain the lead.

India fought back in the quarter, creating multiple chances that finally paid off in the 30th minute. India earned a penalty corner and successfully converted it into a goal.

The Indian dominance in the third quarter

The third quarter saw India continue their dominance. In the 30th minute, Harmanpreet Singh converted another penalty corner into a goal. Sardar Singh pushed the ball inside, and Harmanpreet skillfully scored by threading it through Calzado and Rodriguez, putting it into the net.

The third quarter also saw some attacks from Spain, but Harmanpreet and the Indian defence managed to hold their ground. The quarter ended with India leading the game.

Road to victory

The fourth quarter was intense, as the Indian team gave it their all. To defend the ball, Hardik was taken off the field, and Sukhjeet received a green card. Despite this, the players defended well, securing the medal for India.
