The Indian Embassy in France has delivered 40 ACs to the Olympics Village for Indian athletes. There has been a lot of buzz about the accommodation at the Games Village, particularly regarding the lack of ACs in the rooms. However, things now look sorted as the plug-and-play ACs have been installed and Indian athletes have already started using them. Although the eco-friendly Games Village did not initially suit the athletes well, from bringing their own ACs to dissatisfaction with the accommodations, we’ve seen it all.
From no non-veg food to no AC in the room
Since the eco-village, prepared by the IOC to reduce the carbon footprint, came with a few restrictions, there has been ongoing debate about these restrictions. One of the issues discussed is the use of air conditioning. Many countries have brought their own air conditioners, and now India has also received a few from its embassy in France. On the other hand, the IOC is offering more vegetarian food in the Olympic Village restaurants.
USA, Denmark, and Australia brought their own air conditioners
While the village had been seeking innovative cooling methods, a few countries, such as Japan, the United States, Australia, Denmark, and Canada, brought their own air conditioners for their athletes. These air conditioners included features such as advanced humidity control and air purification systems.
