After becoming the first Indian athlete to win two bronze medals in the same Olympics by winning the 10m individual and mixed events, Manu Bhaker lost the 25m event at the Paris Olympics 2024 by the barest of margins. Manu came 4th in the finals with 28 points in the last hurdle. However, it’s also a fact that this 22-year-old is already on the path to becoming a legend. But did you know this superstar has a foodie side as well? Yes, that’s correct! Manu herself revealed that she loves to eat and, just like all of us, she has one special food that she can eat any time.
Manu Bhaker favourite food
Just like us, she loves aloo ka paratha, especially the ones made by her mom, Sumedha Bhaker. She herself said that in a video circulating online. In the video, Bhaker can be heard saying, “Definitely, it’s aloo ka paratha… my mom’s.”
Manu Bhaker, who clinched India’s first medal at the Paris Olympics with a bronze in the 10m air pistol event, and then, along with Sarbjot Singh, won the 10m mixed event, became the first Indian athlete to win two medals. Apart from crediting her mom’s food, she also credited the Bhagavad Gita.
Speaking at JioCinema, the 22-year-old shooting sensation said she read the Bhagavad Gita a lot for concentration.
“I read the Bhagavad Gita quite a lot. What was going through my mind was to just do what I was meant to, supposed to do. Just leave whatever else to destiny. You can’t control the outcome. In the Gita, Lord Krishna tells Arjuna to focus on the karma and not the outcome of the karma. That was running through my mind, to just do my task.”
