Lakshya Sen creates history, becomes first Indian male badminton player to reach Olympics semifinals

India have won a medal in badminton in the last three editions of the Olympics, and Lakshya would hope to keep this tradition alive.

India’s only hope left in badminton, Lakshya Sen reached into the semifinals of the men’s badminton event. He becomes the first Indian male badminton player to make it into the semis. Lakshya defeated Taiwan’s Chou Tien-Chen in three games by (19-21, 21-15, 21-12).

Earlier, Lakshya reached the quarterfinals after a great win over compatriot HS Prannoy in the round of 16. Chou has been in great form as well, and just like Lakshya, he hasn’t dropped a game in the Olympics so far.
