Virat Kohli & Rohit Sharma have first net session under Gautam Gambhir’s supervision

Kohli and Rohit were scheduled to play directly in September (Bangladesh Tests) but were called up by coach Gambhir.

India’s biggest cricket stars, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, have begun a new chapter of their careers. Having retired from T20Is and Rahul Dravid gone, the two modern greats have started their second inning under new head coach Gautam Gambhir. Having been requested to join the Indian cricket team for the ODI series against Sri Lanka, the duo arrived on July 30 and started to get back into the groove.

With Gambhir in Pallekele for the T20I series, Rohit and Kohli had their first net of the series on July 30. Now, the new head coach is in Colombo for the 3-match ODI series starting August 2, after whitewashing the hosts. The two greats were even spotted batting alongside each other, as other stars like KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer were also present at the R. Premadasa Stadium.
