PM Modi congratulates Sarabjot Singh on bronze medal success at Paris Olympics

The Indian pair of Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh won the bronze medal in the 10m Air Pistol mixed team event at Paris Olympics 2024.

India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently spoke to bronze medal-winning shooter Sarabjot Singh at the Paris Olympics 2024.

Narendra Modi congratulated Sarabjot by calling him, saying, “Aapne desh ka naam roshan kiya hai. Manu ko bhi badhai, aap individual mein reh gaye, lekin yahan accha kiya hai. Aapki aur Manu ki team ne accha teamwork dikhaya hai.” (You have brought glory to the country. Congratulations to Manu as well. Although you remained an individual, you did well here. Your and Manu’s team have shown excellent teamwork.)

The reason behind the performance

Modi asked about their performance, to which Sarabjot replied, “2019 se national aur world cups mein maine consistently perform kiya aur medals laaye, anubhav kaam aaya hai.” (Since 2019, we have performed consistently in national and world cups and brought home medals; experience has helped.)

Modi continued, “Aap accha karenge, aap mehnat kar rahe hain aur lagan se kar rahe hain. Maine Manu ke baare mein poocha, lekin voh dope test ke liye gayi hai. Wahaan humare sabhi khiladiyon ko shubhkamnayein.” (You will do well; you are working hard and with dedication. I asked about Manu, but she went for the dope test. Good luck to all our players there.)
