Indian ace singles tennis player Sumit Nagal failed to advance in the men’s singles event at the Paris Olympics 2024. The 26-year-old lost 2-6, 6-2, 5-7 to France’s Corentin Moutet in the first round. He lost in straight sets.
Nagal was the only player representing India in the men’s singles event. In tennis, India now has only the doubles pair of Rohan Bopanna and N Sriram Balaji to hope for a medal in the games.
Nagal has always faced tough competition at the Olympics; in the last Olympics in Tokyo, he lost to Russia’s Daniil Medvedev in the second round.
