Yet another homecoming in IPL 2025 looms large. Ready for his third stint at Punjab Kings, Wasim Jaffer is set to take up the new role as the head coach of the IPL franchise. As per reports, Jaffer is slated to replace Taylor Bayliss whose two year contract ended after IPL 2024.
Earlier from 2019 till 2021 Jaffer served as the batting coach of the side. Ahead of the start of IPL 2024, Jaffer was released by the club from his position of batting consultant. But with no love lost, Jaffer is set to be back with the Punjab outfits. This time in a bigger capacity, as the head coach of the side.
Punjab Kings ready to buckle up!
IPL 2024 was far from what Punjab Kings expected. The team was rather poor throughout the tournament and managed to finish 9th. This was their 10th consecutive season where the side failed to make to the playoffs of the tournament. But now ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction, the team is looking to change the tide.
Trevor Bayliss is gone after this two year contract with the club expired. And as per reports, Wasim Jaffer is slated to become head coach to control the helm of the team. The former India batter will have a crucial job at his hands given that there would be the IPL 2025 mega auction.
With teams ready for some overhaul, PBKS will be desperate to form a strong side and aim for the top as the elusive title has been missing from the side for the last 17 seasons.
