Sri Lanka’s veteran spinner, Muttiah Muralitharan, sits comfortably on the list of most wickets in international cricket. Making his debut back in 1992, Muralitharan finished with 1347 wickets across formats in 495 outings. The second place on the list is taken by the late Shane Warne, with a total of 1001 wickets. England’s pacer, James Anderson who recently retired from the international arena, scalped 991 wickets in 339 matches he played.
India’s former leg-spinner, Anil Kumble, is placed fourth on the list with 956 wickets in 403 international matches. Glenn McGrath (949 wickets) from Australia completes the top 5 bowlers with the most wickets in international cricket.
