Check out the full interview with the IGL of True Rippers below:

What are your thoughts on qualifying for the Skyesports Championship 2024? How does it feel to represent your country against international teams?

Representing India feels surreal! Qualifying for the Skyesports Championship 2024 was a dream come true for us. It’s always been one of our bucket list items. In the past, we have often fell short in the grand finals only, missing the international slot by a single game usually to Gods Reign. This time, we gave it our all, and here we are.

How has Skyesports contributed to your journey, and what role do they play in the CS2 roadmap for teams like yours?

Skyesports has played a pivotal role in shaping the CS2 roadmap as we know it today. For us in the team, it has made pursuing a career as a CS2 pro player a viable option in India. Of course, that wouldn’t have been possible without the support of a fantastic esports organization like True Rippers.

What are your expectations for the Skyesports Championship 2024? Are there any specific teams you are particularly looking forward to competing against?

We have no specific expectations from the tournament; our goal is simply to perform our best and showcase our progress and what India has to offer. We’re eager to compete against every team attending the event, as each one brings unique strengths and learning opportunities.

We are certainly the underdogs and despite being the best in India, we haven’t reached the level of competitiveness like some of these international teams. However, regular competitions like the Skyesports Championship, where we get constant exposure will not only polish our skills but also inspire the next generation of esports athletes to compete and win for India on the international stage.

How would you describe the current state of local competition in your region? Have you seen significant growth in recent years?

The local competition in our region has grown tremendously in recent years. Thanks to Skyesports’ excellent roadmap, we’re witnessing a surge of new players and teams, which is raising the level of competition day by day. That being said, it’s obviously still not as big or competitive as other regions. I think with constant competitions, we should see it grow in the coming time.

What advice would you give to up-and-coming teams looking to compete internationally?

To the up-and-coming teams, my advice is simple: work hard, and you’ll reach your destination when the time is right! Of course, keep focusing on your primary career and studies and pursue esports on the side. Counter-Strike 2 esports is just starting off in India so there will be plenty opportunities coming your way.
