However, eager viewers of the Paris Olympics 2024 don’t have to wait until the opening ceremony to watch the games. Qualifying and preliminary round events start on July 24th, with football kicking off first.
Football and rugby
Football will be the first sport to start at the Paris Olympics, with group matches for Group B and Group C commencing on July 24th. Rugby events also start on July 24th, with matches for Pool B and Pool C scheduled for the first day.

Handball and archery events will begin on July 25th. In Indian time, the women’s handball preliminary round starts at 12:30 PM, and the women’s archery individual ranking round begins at 1:00 PM.
Shooting before the opening ceremony
A few hours before the opening ceremony, shooting events will commence. According to Indian time, the 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team Pre-Event Training starts at 12:30 PM on July 26th.
