Shivam Dube has been in the limelight. After a stunning IPL 2024, he was selected in the India squad for the ICC T20 World Cup. But come the mega tournament, he failed to delivery. But on the most important day, i.e. the finals, he showcased his class. While criticism is a part and parcel of a player’s career, his childhood coach Satish Samant claimed how Dube coped up.
Satish Samant, Shivam Dube’s childhood coach, claimed that criticism are part and parcel of the game. He claimed that, criticism in sport in inevitable and the same has happened with Shivam Dube.
“Criticism and pressure are part of the game. When the team is selected, each player’s strengths and the team’s needs are considered. Shivam’s performance over the last two years earned him his spot. Criticism is inevitable, but he focused on his game. During the World Cup final, he played crucial innings. It was his knock and Axar Patel’s knock that made the difference for Team India. They both eased the pressure on Virat Kohli and helped the team post a respectable total on the board,” Satish Samant told MyKhel.
Satish Samant further heaped huge praises for Shivam Dube. He claimed that Dube played well in the finals and that helped Virat Kohli play a massive innings. Ultimately, it helped India lift the T20 World Cup.
