Babar Azam deletes James Anderson tribute post on social media after fans spot blunder, reshares later

James Anderson retired after his final test against the West Indies on Friday.

Pakistan captain Babar Azam was mocked on social media after his tribute post for the recently retired James Anderson contained a factual error. Azam’s post meant to honour the legendary fast bowler, mistakenly praised his “cutters,” a delivery not typically associated with Anderson’s bowling style.

The internet users were quick to pick up on the mistake, with fans flooding the comments section with mocking and corrections.

Babar Azam reposted with correction

Azam deleted the original post. He then re-shared the tribute, replacing “cutters” with the more appropriate “swing,” a delivery Anderson is renowned for mastering.
